"Sprinter" Egg Hunt and Activities

Hard to see, the mini dots are eggs that covered this grassy meadow.
Our neighborhood held it's annual Egg Hunt. (This was scheduled for Wednesday and postponed until Friday due to snow--the weatherman is calling it "Sprinter" which stands for Spring Winter). There was a craft (bunny ears), photos with an Easter Bunny, and cookie decorating. Then the hunt began. It was a large group and each family was to bring 12 filled eggs per child. The leader in charge struggled to get her bull horn working and anarchy (and cold wind) brought an early start to the hunting (little ones were supposed to get a five minute head start). I had some good hunters with me. Jonathan was fast, Hannah retrieved the hard to get woody area eggs. Susie was delighted with each one she "found"--especially when they opened in her basket revealing small jelly beans. Rebekah was our thoughtful hunter. After most of the children were finished, she had only collected a couple of eggs. In the end, she overheard a mother tell her child not to worry about not getting so many eggs...she felt bad for the little boy and rehid eggs near him so he would get more. (Of course, then it was time to go and there were only empty--pre snitched empty eggs left and a sad little lady in our car). At home, Rebekah led the way to a hidden Easter Bag of goodies and toys left by dear friends, Linda and Valine. Children were delighted buy the Zhu Zhu Pet Baby Hamsters each got to choose, a Zhu Zhu Pets Stroller accessory, chocolate coconut cookie nests, candy, chick egg candles, an Easter flag, cookie cutters, Spiderman stickers, etc.
