Miss Susannah and The Green Marker

Susannah is fast! More than any of my other children at thirteen months, she is drawn to pencils, crayons, and markers! Just as I was checking e-mail, Jonathan turned around and gasped. "Look Mom!" Susannah was trying to eat it? draw with it? defend herself from Mom taking the marker away? Note how very happy she is with her plastic spoon and marker. (She has no pants on because Joe has changed her--getting her ready for pajamas).

She looks very pleased with herself! I can hardly wait to see her next "art" project!

Julie! It was so great to talk to you. You are a wealth of knowledge, thanks for sharing so generously with me (and others, I'm sure)! I seriously felt so much LIGHTER after we talked! I feel like I can give up the martyr mommy thing and replace it with the mommy that goes to bed early and doesn't second guess herself all night. I think half my tiredness was from trying to analyze whether Sophia really needed me each time she woke up. That sure is draining! I'm going to just do my part to feel rested and then trust that the lord will make me equal to the task of meeting Sophia's nighttime needs. (Like he has for countless mothers over countless different cultures for countless years!)

No wonder parenthood is practice for Godhood - there is no way to hang onto our selfishness like we would as single or childless folk!

Can't wait to talk more, you are great! And as they say all the time here in NY, "God bless you!" :)
